Situated between the Ladakh to the north and Kinnaur to the south, the Spiti Valley is a high-altitude cold desert where blue skies encounter rugged brown cliffs and monasteries stand precariously on rock outcrops. Spiti has the nickname “The Middle Land” between India and Tibet, and its cultural landscape bears deep influences of Tibetan Buddhism, which can be witnessed in its centuries-old monasteries such as Key, Tabo, and Dhankar.
Driving through Spiti is like traversing a painting—winding roads lead past emerald rivers, sky-high passes like Kunzum La, and surreal villages like Kibber, Hikkim, Langza, and Komic (one of the world’s highest villages connected by a motorable road). Here, you’ll find some of the highest post offices and polling stations in the world, nestled in a landscape that feels both ancient and alien.
But Spiti is not for the hardy traveler alone—it’s for anyone looking for a deeper connection with nature and with themselves. The silence of Chandratal Lake, warm local hospitality, and celestial clarity of night skies make it a retreat for introspection and slow travel. Every village has stories to tell of simplicity, survival, and spirituality.
Whereas summers fill Spiti with life and color, winters cover the land in dense, insulating snow—sealing it as a year-round wonderland for various types of adventurers. The adjacent Lahaul Valley, once inaccessible during winters, is now directly connectable due to the Atal Tunnel, bringing in lush green meadows, waterfalls, and lesser-traveled paths to your Himalayan journey.
Our well-planned Lahaul-Spiti itinerary will take you through this enchanted landscape—through secluded monasteries, peaceful lakes, age-old villages, and breathtaking scenery. Schedule Details
Day 0: DELHI TO SHIMLA
- Meet at the meeting point in Delhi at Kashmiri Gate/Majnu ka tila 1 hour prior to the boarding time. Overnight journey from Delhi to Shimla in Volvo.
Day 1: SHIMLA TO CHITKUL/ SANGLA
- Early morning, we’ll arrive in Shimla. We’ll be changing our transportation from bus to Traveller at this point and will head out for Chitkul/Sangla. 9 hours-long drive, unraveling the beauty of in-between destinations like Narknada, Bhabha
valley, Rampur We’ll reach Chitkul/Sangla by evening. Finally, we’ll end the day with some group bonding exercises followed by dinner. Overnight stay in Chitkul/Sangla.
Day 2: CHITKUL/SANGLA TO NAKO/TABO
- Wake up to the glittering peaks in front of your abode Enjoy the breakfast and get ready to leave for Chitkul and Sangla sightseeing. 5 hours drive through enchanting Baspa valley .
- We’ll reach Nako/Tabo by evening. Relax, enjoy the views and plan for a snow-walk Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in Nako/Tabo.
Day 3: NAKO/TABO TO KAZA
- Enjoy the breakfast and get ready to explore Nako, Nako lake, Nako Monastery Find the mighty Reo-Purgyil peak from there and leave for Gue Explore Gue Monastery, 500 years old Tibetan mummy Leave for Dhankar, explore Dhankar fort and Dhankar monastery Coming back to Kaza, night stay in Kaza
Day 4: KAZA SIGHTSEEINGS
- Enjoy the breakfast and leave for Langza. Visit the famous Buddha statue situated in Langza. Hikkim, being the next spot, highest post-office in the world Explore Komic, the highest motorable village in the world.
Day 5: CHICHAM BRIDGE
- Going to Key, explore Key monastery Try your luck to spot snow-leopard in the Kibber wildlife sanctuary Next to explore, Chicham-Asia’s highest bridge. If time permits and road condition are ok we will try to add Pin valley
Day 6: KAZA TO KALPA
- Enjoy the breakfast and leave Kaza. Heading towards the Kalpa, a region which has the cleanest air in India Explore Suicide point, enjoy the views of the Kinnaur-Kailash range Indulge into sky-watching, milky way, shining stars Night stay in Kalpa- homestay.
Day 7: KALPA TO SHIMLA DEPARTURE
Wake up to the enchanting mountain-views. Enjoy the breakfast over ruminating the trip- memories Chitchat over the jolly moments before you leave 8 hours drive full of valleys, mountains and snowy vistas.
Day 8: Reach Delhi next morning

Yep, but it’s an easy one. Tiger Falls requires a light 1 km trek (around 20–30 mins) through a forest trail. The path is well-marked and scenic, and totally beginner-friendly. Wear good shoes and bring that camera!
